Today, this is what I feel: fat and sore. Nothing wakes up your shoulder and arms like a good number of Chaturangas and nothing says “you ate too many fried jacks in Belize” like fat rolls in your face during Halasana. Yuck.
I'm very sore in my shoulders and hamstrings, but basically my entire body feels like it's been beaten up. I guess that means that Ashtanga really is a full-body workout. Good to know!
I did a modified primary series. My backbends feel horrible right now. I don't think I'm strong enough to really lift up properly and once I'm there, I don't have the flexibility in my back to do much with it. Sirsasana was fun. I really felt my hamstrings in Halasana.
Goal for tomorrow: Do yoga.

Welcome back! I missed you. And it's nice to see that I am not the only one who sometimes neglects to practice and then has a stiff and sore body after starting again. This is the reason that makes me practice every day, because I don't like to lose the flexibility and strength gained, and it looks like one can lose it very fast. Besides, I just feel better when I do yoga, that is, the primary series daily. Happy New Year to you.
Welcome back on the mat - and on the blog!
Nice you are still around and please do not despair: flexibility and strength once gained, recover really fast. Trust me, this I know from countless recoveries after lots of periods without practice over the years.
And to be honest, I enjoy your blog so much that I hope you'll drag it out for yet another while before you reach the 365 mark.
Happy New Year, dear Kaivalya!
I wish you to have a very happy 2009. Be healthy and well-loved this year!
Glad you are back! I know the feelings you are talking about. Nothing like a new year to get our bodies back in gear.
happy new year!
