Urdhva Dhanurasana is my nemesis, so I'm grateful for any tips for the pose. I find that I tend to breath very shallowly in Urdhva Dhanurasana and bail out of the pose when I'm feeling 'out of breath'. Holding the bridge for 20 breaths may help me get in the habit of breathing more deeply - I'll let you know how it goes.

Also, I've particularly enjoyed your CRON posts recently (the one with the CoM screenshot had me nodding sympathetically). I started CRON this spring and I'm still at it.

Cheers!Kaivalyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08706519542278960007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796354866116498246.post-44220225751071068262007-12-18T19:42:00.000-08:002007-12-18T19:42:00.000-08:00Hi! What I learned from Tim Miller is that one should at least do 2 sets of three Urdvha Danurasanas, holding each for five breaths. And it doesn't hurt to do bridge before as a way to prepare for it about 1 set of 3. Lately I've modified that to holding the pelvis with the hands for about 20 breaths, because it feels good and because I learned the warmup from Kino MacGreggor, although she didn't instruct to do that many breaths.
Cheers,
ArturoArturohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10971352220152467379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796354866116498246.post-13084101102866836622007-12-17T12:07:00.000-08:002007-12-17T12:07:00.000-08:00Michelle: You're right! There's a reason for the name of the blog, and perhaps I should write about it sometime, because it's funny how much can change in six months.

Yogamum: I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! I felt a tad bit silly writing about this, but I know I'm not imagining it. I went through my closet yesterday and put aside a bunch of clothes that are too big, and among them are a couple of shirts that no longer fit me because they're too small around the armpit area. It really is annoying!Kaivalyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08706519542278960007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796354866116498246.post-37806098362282777192007-12-17T08:49:00.000-08:002007-12-17T08:49:00.000-08:00I'm with you on the ashtangi fashion line!
